About our research
The program includes five interlinked Work Packages (WPs). The first (WP1) manages the integrated participatory approach to addressing tensions and trade-offs through dialogue with relevant stakeholders and develops scenarios and synthesizes the results into transition pathways. WPs 2-5 provide the core of the scientific analysis, addressing the above-mentioned challenges and opportunities.
Read more about the WP:s
WP1
WP1 – Scenarios, stakeholder involvement and synthesis
The first work package provides a structured process for the interaction with stakeholders throughout the program.
WP2
WP2 – Electrification and sector integration
This work package analyzes pathways for the Swedish and Northern European electricity systems that address the anticipated electrification of the transport and industry sectors.
WP3
WP3 – Non-technical feasibility
In the third work package we'll assess whether key elements of the electricity transition pathways, especially the rate of the transitions, modeled in WP2 are feasible.
WP4
WP4 – Social acceptability of energy infrastructure
The focus of WP4 is understanding the social acceptability of the energy infrastructure solutions identified in WP2 as necessary to achieve climate neutrality.
WP5
WP5 – Economy-wide and distributional effects
Using a modeling approach and unique empirical data, the fifth work package will shed empirical light on Sweden’s ability to be an early mover in decarbonization.
